CSET: Multiple Subjects

CSET: Multiple Subjects consists of 3 subtests:

• Subtest I (test code 101)
• Subtest II (test code 214)
• Subtest III (test code 225)

Online proctoring is available for Subtest I and Subtest III:

• Subtest I (test code 101)
• Subtest III (test code 225)

For computer-based testing at a test center, you may register to take any one subtest or all three subtests in a single test session.

For testing remotely via online proctoring, Subtests I and III are administered in separate testing sessions. You must register for each subtest separately. Subtest II is not available via online proctoring.

Format

Computer-based test (CBT) and online-proctored test:

• Subtest I: 52 multiple-choice questions and 4 constructed-response questions
• Subtest III: 39 multiple-choice questions and 3 constructed-response questions

Computer-based test (CBT) only:

• Subtest II: 52 multiple-choice questions and 4 constructed-response questions

Dates

Computer-Based Testing
By appointment year-round, Monday through Saturday (excluding some holidays). Check appointment availability .

Online Proctoring
By appointment with an online proctor during one-week testing windows each month.

Session Length

Computer-Based Testing
Subtests I & II: 3 hours per subtest
Subtest III: 2 hours and 15 minutes
All 3 subtests in a single session: 5 hours

Online Proctoring
Subtest I: 3 hours

Breaks

Computer-Based Testing
You may take restroom breaks during testing. Time taken for breaks is considered part of the available testing time.

No breaks allowed.

Test Results

Computer-Based Testing
Test results are available within 5 weeks of testing.
Review test results release dates.
Candidates will receive a receipt of completion at the conclusion of their test center appointment.

Online Proctoring
Test results are available within 5 weeks of testing.
Review test results release dates.
Candidates taking an online-proctored test will not receive a receipt of completion when their test ends.

Test Features

Computer-Based Testing
A standard four-function on-screen calculator is provided to examinees for Subtest II. 
Subtest II includes one or more assignments that allow you to handwrite and scan responses. See scanning instructions  and the hand-draw tutorial video  for information on how to use a response sheet for handwritten responses. (The instructions will be available during testing.)

Online Proctoring
Subtest II is not available via online proctoring.
