CSET: English

CSET: English consists of 4 subtests:

• Subtest I (test code 105)
• Subtest II (test code 106)
• Subtest III (test code 107)
• Subtest IV (test code 108)

For computer-based testing at a test center, you may register to take any one subtest or all four subtests in a single test session.

For testing remotely via online proctoring, subtests are administered in separate testing sessions. You must register for each subtest separately.

Format

Computer-based test (CBT) and online-proctored test:

• Subtest I: 50 multiple-choice questions
• Subtest II: 50 multiple-choice questions
• Subtest III: 2 constructed-response questions
• Subtest IV: 4 constructed-response questions

Computer-Based Testing
By appointment year-round, Monday through Saturday (excluding some holidays). Check appointment availability .

Online Proctoring
By appointment with an online proctor during one-week testing windows each month.

Session Length

Computer-Based Testing
Subtests I and IV: 1 hour and 30 minutes per subtest
Subtest II: 1 hour
Subtest III: 2 hours
All 4 subtests in a single session: 6 hours

Online Proctoring

Test Results

Computer-Based Testing
Subtests I & II: Test results are available within 5 weeks of testing.
Review test results release dates.

Subtests III & IV: Test results are available within 7 weeks of testing.

Candidates will receive a receipt of completion at the conclusion of their test center appointment.

Online Proctoring
Test results are available within 5 weeks of testing.
Review test results release dates.

Candidates taking an online-proctored test will not receive a receipt of completion when their test ends.
