CSET: Art consists of 2 subtests:

• Subtest I (test code 229)
• Subtest II (test code 230)

For computer-based testing at a test center, you may register to take one or both subtests in a single test session.

For testing remotely via online proctoring, Subtest II is administered in a separate testing session. Subtest I is not available via online proctoring.

Format

Computer-based test (CBT) only:

• Subtest I: 40 multiple-choice questions and three constructed-response questions

Computer-based test (CBT) and online-proctored test:

• Subtest II: 40 multiple-choice questions and two constructed-response questions

Session Length

Computer-Based Testing
Subtest I: 2 hours and 15 minutes
Subtest II: 2 hours and 15 minutes
Both subtests in a single session: 4 hours and 30 minutes

Breaks

You may take restroom breaks during testing. Time taken for breaks is considered part of the available testing time.

No breaks allowed.

Test Results

Computer-Based Testing
Test results are available within 7 weeks of testing.
Review test results release dates.
Candidates will receive a receipt of completion at the conclusion of their test center appointment.

Online Proctoring
Test results are available within 4 weeks of testing.
Review test results release dates.
Candidates taking an online-proctored test will not receive a receipt of completion when their test ends.

Test Features

Computer-Based Testing

Subtest I includes the use of a headset.

Subtest I includes one or more assignments that allow you to handwrite and scan responses. See scanning instructions  and the hand-draw tutorial video  for information on how to use a response sheet for handwritten responses. (The instructions will be available during testing.)

Online Proctoring
Subtest I is not available via online proctoring. .
